The new 2008 Mission Journey.
I realy enjoy testing quality products that meet or exceed my expectations. The 2008 Mission Journey (by Mathews) exceeds my expectations in all areas of a Short Bow. I am 6'3" and short axel to axel bows seem too small and compact for my frame. String angle and Peep Eye relief normaly require I shoot at least a 1/2" longer draw than normal. This was not the case with this new bow.

This is the first installment of our series on “Getting Started in Fly Fishing: I want to go fly fishing!†In this series we're going to start out in the same spot every fly fisherman does, completely and totally lost, because like most of you we had no clue what we were getting in to when we started this. But that’s ok, with a lot of help from some new found friends, and lots of practice, research, and patience we're already well on our way to grasping what it's all about. As we are completely new to the world of fly fishing, we're going to look at everything from correct casting technique, and what gear to use, to fly tying and lure selection, and where to fish and what to fish for.

The Shimano Symetre's not a great reel, but it's not that bad either. It's simply a solid middle of the road spinning reel.

Every once in a while though we run across a product that we feel the manufacture has gone above and beyond in its design. The Daiwa Megaforce with Twitchn bar is just such a product, it is one of the best bait casting reels I have ever put in my hand for under $75.00. The added twitchn bar is truley a finess fishermans dream come true the added presentation possibilities make this one of my first picks when working jigs and creatures in heavy cover, bait bumping of live bait when fishing for Cats has a whole new meening now.
